The goal of SISKON is to provide its customers with the highest and best suitable technology, and serving its customers with quality products and professional integrity to achieve total customer satisfaction. Besides developing sophisticated control equipment and software for the textile industry, SISKON also provides key solutions such as consultation, project feasibility analysis, equipment selection and supply, application software, system installation and Commissioning, documentation and on-site training services to the electronics, machinery, natural gas and tobacco industries. SISKON’s operations are based on providing complete solutions. Software projects are developed using new generation visual programming languages and high-level SQL data base programs. The software projects are implemented using both vendor and custom in-house software programs. SISKON is also Turkey representative and distributor of Beckhoff Gmbh. Beckhoff implements open automation systems based on PC-compatible control technology. The product range includes Industrial PC, field bus components and automation software. Components and system solutions from Beckhoff are employed in a wide range of applications all around the world from high-speed machining centers to intelligent building automation. 2) Management & Organization 3) Customer Services Siskon realizes that quality of service provided to it’s customers, is just as important as the quality of the products and systems it has developed. For this reason, besides using communication methods such as e-mail, telephone, fax, modem and internet to resolve problems, frequent customer visits also take place. Siskon is able to provide 24 hour on-line support by using every communication channel modern technology supplies. Siskon is completely aware of the working environment in which the products are used in, and can therefore put into action the company’s policy of immediate and continuous support. As a result, Customer Services can provide 24hours a day, 7 days a week support. Customer problems are forwarded to a Support Line where a Siskon Customer Representative logs the call with all its details into a Call Logging program. With the aid of Siskon Knowledge Base, the Customer Representative tries to resolve the problem by providing Level 1 support. Problems which can’t be resolved at this level will be elevated to a higher level support group or forwarded to R&D (Research and Development). A connection by modem or internet will be made to the system and the problem will be resolved according to the agreed period specified in the SLA (Service Level Agreement). If the cause of the problem is not from Siskons hardware or software (i.e 3rd party Compaq, Microsoft), the relevant details will be explained to the customer and the problem will be pursued. With the data collected from Siskons Helpdesk database, the problems experienced are shared with the customer during visits to find a common solution and take preventative action. In order to gain maximum productivity of the software and minimize errors, Siskon provides training and support to it’s customers by educating them on all the features provided within the application. The end of a project is not considered as the end of implementation. Importance is stress upon long term post-implementation support which is in line with company strategies. Location Izmir / Turkey Industry Textile Rank in the year 2002 among all companies in Turkey 180 i) Knitting Operation Automation Installing Siskon’s RIO Knit module onto the knitting machines in the plant, made it possible to automatically detect the status of the knitting machines from the main system, such as: q Stop reason and stop time if the machine has come to a halt, q Machine efficiency, production counts, machine speed of all machines can be monitored on-line and this data can be used for producing reports. The RIO Knit module which transfers collected data to the main system was designed, built and implemented by Siskon’s R&D department. Machines on-line status, is tracked by a scada system within Genesis Iconics environment. Data is stored on the SQL server. The knitting machines work independently regardless of its brand and model. b) JTI Torbali A summary of the company information can be seen in the table below. Location Izmir / Turkey Industry Tobacco Rank in the year 2002 among all companies in Turkey 46 i) Quality Assurance Data Collection (QADC) Project This project was prepared for the Quality Control department where data collected from electronic measurement devices within the laboratory and data that is collected manually are entered into the system. The QADC system performs a statistical analysis of all the data and helps to produce graphics, tables and reports as an outcome. Automatic data collection is performed by sending the measured results from the serial port of the testing devices, which is connected to Siskon Monitrol MII, and where the test results can be read from the operators’ panel while being transferred to the main system. The system also allows manual data entry. Data is stored on the SQL server. The software used for the client/server architecture has been written using all the rules that are necessary to ensure maximum security within the database. Apart from the standard reports, users now have the flexibility to produce specific reports using the query function. All reports can be produced in graphical and table format. ii) QADC - Freeway Integration Project All data and test results that are collected from the Freeway system (including product and parameter definition etc) are also automatically transferred to the QADC database. Having Freeway data within the same database as QADC makes it more practical to produce Freeway reports, tables and graphs using the modules in QADC. Another advantage is that Freeway data is more secure by being in an SQL environment rather than it’s own MS Access environment. iii) Rainbow The following up of purchasing, importing and traffic processes are now available in a computing environment. The main and necessary information (e.g. vendor and item master definitions) are downloaded from the existing ERP system. The system works in a multi-user environment where users can only access areas where they have been granted permissions. With the aid of this software, data flow between Purchasing, Traffic and Import departments is made easy. Companies that provide services to its customers can now produce orders (shipment orders, import orders etc.) automatically from the system. Data is stored on the Microsoft SQL Server. The software used for the client/server architecture has been written using all the rules that are necessary to ensure maximum security within the database. iv) Rainbow & SAP Collaboration With SAP-Siskon collaboration, online follow-up of traffic, invoicing and importing is enabled. Common interface software is created with SAP Company to transfer the necessary data from the customers existing SAP system. The aim of this interface software is to transfer the necessary data from SAP to Rainbow software that has been developed by Siskon to follow up traffic, invoicing and importing processes. Location Istanbul / Turkey Industry Electrical Equipment i) Pre-Payment Electricity Meter Concept A prototype was prepared for a pre-paid, multi—tariff, single and 3 phase active and re-active electricity meter for Kale Porcelain. The concept of the meter, material selection, printed circuit board (PCB), and software for the micro processor were all prepared by Siskon. The electrical meter designed in this project has the following features. The electricity circuit measures single phase active energy. The time circuit enables the meter to calculate the payment of different tariffs during different times of the day. All commands and information can be easily seen using a liquid crystal display (LCD). By using a smart card, subscribers can load credit onto their meters. This allows them to use electricity according to the amount of credit they have loaded. d) Yesim Tekstil A summary of the company information can be seen in the table below. Location Bursa / Turkey Industry Textile Rank in the year 2002 among all companies in Turkey 51 i) Yesim1, Yesim2, Yesim3 factories “Dye House Management Automation” Siskon designed the concept for the Monitrol hardware and Dyehouse Management software. 75 machines were setup in the Dye house, which are connected to the Monitrol MII controllers, which can be controlled by users. Using programs, which have been setup in the Monitrol MII, which is also PLC (Programmable Logic Control), allows users to perform and control the dyeing process which have been previously determined. Monitrol MII controllers can be linked to the Siskon Dyehouse Management software via Siskon fieldbus to get necessary data about processing of machines and download data such as dye programs, process functions, system values to Monitrol MII controller. Siskon Dyehouse Management Software is connected on-line to the main system which enables users to view all process parameters and produce necessary reports instantly. Recipe Management Software is used in the Dyehouse where all the recipies are entered into the system. All utilized recipes are edited, each batch of fabric is associated with recipes, dye programs and machines to get ready job tickets on Microsoft Windows TM platforms. The stock control software makes it possible to calculate the cost of chemical and dye stock data, which is kept on a PC environment. ii) Yesim Knitting Administration Automation Installing Siskon’s RIO Knit module onto the knitting machines in the plant, made it possible to automatically detect the status of the knitting machines from the main system, such as: q Stop reason and stop time if the machine has come to a halt, q Machine efficiency, production counts, machine speed of all machines can be monitored on-line and this data can be used for producing reports. Location Tekirdag / Turkey Industry Textile Rank in the year 2002 among all companies in Turkey 192 i) Dyehouse Automation Fabric dyeing, cone dyeing and flock dyeing machines within the dye house were developed and updated to the Setex 737 controller by the company Setex The modifications of electrical panels on the dyeing machines and the selection of necessary equipment (flowmeter, differential pressure, inverter etc), mounting and activation have been performed by Siskon. Siskon successfully designed and developed a PLC software which is suitable for the Setex 737, for each machine and it’s process. All electrical projects have been drawn using EPLAN software and all project instrument and users guide have been presented to the customer. 5) International Projects a) Al Ameen Industries A summary of the company information can be seen in the table below. The plan is to install Siskon Dye house Management Software to customers who have recently purchased the dyeing machinery from the manufacturer.
